Why I'm part of this by Karla Flower

I love dogs. I love the companionship a dog offers a person and a family. Growing up as an only child, my best friends were dogs. Two rather large tri-coloured Rough Collies and a gorgeous Heinz -57. Having a dog, or several, as part of the family has always been valued. It is particularly noticeable through those challenging times in life, our dogs have always been there; to cuddle, to walk with and to just listen.

As I grew up and left home, mum decided to get another Rough Collie, her foundation bitch Nina. It was with Nina her journey into showing and breeding really grew and it has always felt special to be part of that. Along the way I have learnt more and more about the breed and the value of the breed standard. I'm also really proud of time mum takes to think about her breeding lines and to consider the future of the Rough Collie breed. Her excitement and enthusiasm is catching, and I am keen to support her and her kennel name, Serenlas, which is why we partnered together, in this venture.

Willow -  came alone at a time my life was changing but I just love a tri and she was the one that I always seemed to be drawn to in the litter and was always following me. So I decided to make her part of my future. She has a big personality which I love about her. She is happy to walk miles or go off with mum to do her stuff in the show ring.

Raven - Just a baby, yet having spent some time with this litter, little Raven just stood out to me. She has such a bright and independent nature and seems to take everything in her stride. I really like that flare of personality. She has her own mind, whilst also fun and playful. Mum was struggling to let her go as we could both see her potential. I am so very excited for her future among the Serenlas clan!

Serenlas Collies

Rough collies that are breed for health, happiness and true to the breed standard.

For me a rough collie should be beauty inside and out and that should show in movement, presence, intelligence, attitude and apitude!
